The Union County Lady Patriots collected their fifth win of the season at South Decatur last Saturday, Dec. 11, with a 10-point, 40-30, victory.

It was a solid week for coach Doug Deters' Wildcat wrestlers, as FC gained its first win of the season Dec. 8 at Northeastern and followed that up with a 4-1 showing at Richmond's Tom Hill Invitational Saturday.

After a Covid hiatus, the annual “A Night With a Legend” fundraiser benefiting the Franklin County High School baseball program returned to Third Place with a bang Saturday night. Regaling the crowd in the Greyhound Room was fan favorite Corky Miller, a former catcher for the Cincinnati Reds.
Sophia Knock– Signs with Longwood University
Union County’s three-sport athlete, Homecoming Queen and UCHS’s number-one fan, Sophia Knock, made it official this week. She will take the next step in her softball career at Division I Longwood University at Farmville, Virginia.

Union County’s four heavyweight forfeits didn’t stop the Patriot wrestlers last week in winning the meet at Richmond, 42-30.
Lady Patriots Basketball– UC girls bomb the Raiders
The Union County Lady Patriots got back to business last Saturday and the return debut was a 38-27 victory over the visiting Shenandoah Lady Raiders.
Bears tough out win over FC girls
A low-scoring and often physical affair went the way of the visiting Class 4A Shelbyville Lady Golden Bears Friday night as they triumphed in the Wildcat gymnasium, 36-32. This marked Franklin County's fourth consecutive loss with roughly half of the 2021-22 schedule in the bag.

CENTERVILLE – By halftime of Saturday night's boys basketball game at Centerville, Franklin County's first-year coach Mark Foster could safely get a visual of his first win at the varsity level.
