Franklin County softball needed a comeback to defeat Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference foe Greensburg April 27. Their hopes looked bleak after five-and-a-half innings as the Pirates held a 9-4 advantage; additionally, FC had not scored since the first.
Patriots’ track and field off and running
The Union County boys and girls track and field teams have completed four meets so far this season - a tri-meet at Lincoln with Winchester; a tri-meet at Monroe Central with Union City; at Centerville and a home tri-meet with North Decatur and Hagerstown.

Franklin County’s varsity softball squad got back to its winning ways last Tuesday night at Jac-Cen-Del, shutting out the Lady Eagles 9-0. Coach Alex McCool credited some great defense and an offensive performance of 9 hits.

Franklin County varsity baseball opened play last week with a home win over Connersville. FC was led offensively by Garrett Ertel’s two hits and four RBI, with brother Brant chipping in a pair of hits.
Lady Cats stumble after shutout
Looking for their fifth consecutive win after starting the season 0-2, the Franklin County Lady Wildcats did exactly that by clobbering the host Batesville Bulldogs, 13-0, on a cool evening last Thursday in southwestern Franklin County.
