Young Lady Patriots want improvement this season

Playing under new coach Ryleigh (Waltz) Kennedy, the Lady Patriots placed fourth at Richmond with 388 and 380 on their home course the following day.
“We are working on course management and 2-putting instead of 3-putting,” Kennedy said. “If we could have cut our three putts to two putts today, we would have been right there.”
There are two seniors (Olivia Curry and Morgan Ball), two juniors (Emma Kassens and Madysson McClure) and freshman Peityn Gillman on the UC roster this season.
Kassens leads the Lady Patriots with 87 in both of the first two outings.
Curry and Gillman lowered their scores over night – Curry 97 to 91. Gillman from 100 to 98.
McClure and Ball a few strokes here and there.
“They are young and I know they are tired after these first two days, but we will get there,” said Kennedy.
Union County’s fourth spot at both invitationals was encouraging.
“We finished ahead of other TEC teams,” Kennedy said. “I just want them to show improvement throughout the season.”
Batesville is off to a great start this season with back-to-back invitational wins at Richmond and Union County.
The Lady Patriots travel to Lincoln in a Tri-Eastern Conference three-way meet with Tri High School on Friday, Aug. 6, and at Monroe Central on Monday, Aug. 8. The Lady Pats return to Liberty Country Club Thursday, Aug. 8 with East Central visiting.
