Joyce Renaker Campbell
August 2, 2022 at 6:25 p.m.
Joyce “Gogum” Renaker Campbell was a compassionate, kind, hardworking and giving woman. She grew up in and graduated high school in Brookville, (graduating class of 1964) and eventually made her way to Odessa, Texas where she began her career in the mobile phone industry. She started out at Basin Communications in 1982 and left to begin a long and successful career with Southwestern Bell mobile systems (later to be called Cingular Wireless and ultimately AT&T); along the way she built many lifelong friendships, mentored many young employees, and made a truly positive impact on more people than she ever realized. After retiring in 2012, life led her back to Brookville where she worked for a short time at her family’s beloved Brook Hill Golf Club, a place that held countless wonderful memories and where many, many friends were made. Although West Texas was her physical home at the time of her passing, Brookville was always home in her heart.
Joyce is survived by and was a beloved sister to Carol Renaker Johnson and Steve “Sparky” Renaker and an amazing “Aunt Joycie” to many nieces and nephews. Her greatest pride and joy are her family; she was a loving mother to Jill Campbell Saulsbury and husband Mark and her son Brent Murrell along with his wife Christy. She was an adoring “Gogum” to her grandchildren Meagan Saulsbury Satepauhoodle and husband Ryan, Amy Saulsbury Brady and husband Joshua, Jane Murrell, and Jacob Saulsbury. And ultimately was promoted to “Gr-Gogum” status by her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Zoie, Ethan, Ryder, Jagger, Ridge, Rusty and Luke.
Joyce was preceeded in death by her beloved “Mother & Daddy” Jane Quiggle Renaker and Allan Renaker, along with her Uncle Dale Renaker; they undoubtedly had a beautiful long-awaited reunion at the gates of Heaven.
As per Joyce's wishes, there will be no funeral services; the family asks that everyone please honor and remember her with joy and celebration... the most prevalent comments made about her, and stories told all speak to what a joy she was to be around, her positive spirit truly made an impact on the world around her and we ask that you all honor her memory by spreading that same joy and positivity in your own lives.
