August 16, 2022 at 8:47 p.m.
The Culpepper and Merriweather Circus came to the Franklin County 4-H Fairgrounds in Brookville on Friday, Aug. 12, thanks to the efforts of the Liberty and Brookville Lions clubs in partnership with the 4-H association. A portion of the ticket sales was given back to the Liberty and Brookville Lions Club chapters.
"It was a very well attended event," said Brian Baxter. "Approximately 800 people had an opportunity to go local for a fun-filled night."
The Liberty and Brookville Lion's clubs split the profit and provided the Franklin County 4-H Fair Association with a $615 check towards fundraising for a new 4-H building.
"We appreciate all the community support," Baxter said. "We are planning more events for the fairgrounds."
