Bus driver of crash believed to suffer cardiac arrest

On Aug. 15, at 7:45 a.m., Union County Dispatch received a call of a bus that had crashed into a house at the intersection of State Line Road and Indiana Street in West College Corner. When first responders arrived, they noticed the bus had heavy front damage and was pinned under the porch of the residence.
The driver of the Union County College Corner Joint School bus was Steven Posco, 55, of Liberty. According to Union County Sheriff Dale Dishmnond, it appears the driver went into cardiac arrest and was unconscious. There were 30 students on the bus at the time of the crash. Students were escorted off the bus to a church just west of the crash location, where they were later released.
First responders reached Posco from the driver's seat of the bus and began CPR. Posco was transported to Reid hospital. His condition is unknown at this time. Two children were taken to the hospital for evaluation and were treated and released.
