July 12, 2022 at 7:43 p.m.
The friends of 21-year-old Andrew Beaman hosted their second annual softball tournament this weekend to honor the young father.
Beaman lost his life in a crash in May 2021, leaving his fiance, Brooklyn, and 2-year-old son, Mason.
His friends host the softball tournament to keep Beaman's memory alive while also raising money for his family.
"This year we hosted a 2-day tournament and also had a basket raffle, sold t-shirts and just do whatever we could do to help his family and his child," said organizer Ben Krider. "Andrew was one of the nicest dudes you'll ever meet just a great guy.
Community organizations also got involved including Skyline Chili and the Brokville Butcher who donated food.
Organizer Landon Bundy said, "I am happy to announce that we did, in fact, hit our goal of raising over $10,000 to be put into the trust for Andrew's son, Mason. We look forward to seeing everyone back at the town park next year for the 3rd Annual Tournament!"
