Hidden gems in The 765
July 19, 2022 at 7:55 p.m.
This week's Hidden Gem is the Overlook at the Riverside Park in Rushville, located conveniently off Main Street. The park makes a perfect summer day destination.
In 2021, the Overlook was added to Riverside Park and quickly became a family favorite in the summer. Children can cool off in the splash pad and play creek, and plenty of seating is available for parents. In addition, the playground features a large climbing structure, swings, slides, and even a pirate ship. Cornhole boards are also available.
The Overlook is only one of the park's many features. Established walking trails can be found throughout the park, and an 18-hole disc golf course that hosts a league every Thursday at 6 p.m.
On the other side of the river, a kayak launch entrance is available for those who want to explore the Flatrock River.
Riverside Park is also home to the "Live by the Levee Concert Series." A free concert series that brings in around 4,000 people from the community and surrounding areas, each concert provides excellent live music under the stars.
