Man arrested on battery charges enters not guilty plea

On July 18, Charles Campbell, 62, of Brookville and a member of the Brookville Town Council, was charged with Battery on a Police Officer, a Level 6 Felony, and Resisting Law Enforcement, a Class A Misdemeanor. The charges stemmed from an incident at the Riverfront Apartment Complex in Brookville on July 11.
Campbell was arrested that evening and booked in the Franklin County Security Center. He later posted bond and was released. The initial hearing for his case was scheduled for July 26 in Franklin County Circuit Court before Judge Kellerman. However, on July 25, Campbell waived the initial hearing, entering a plea of not guilty and a jury trial request.
Campbell's wife, Donna K. Campbell, 56, also of Brookville, was charged with Resisting Law Enforcement. She has also waived the initial hearing, entering a plea of not guilty and a jury trial request.
