Round Robin showmanship
July 27, 2022 at 6:22 p.m.
Sheep Showman, Dexter Schlichter, walked away with one of the largest trophies Union County has to offer on the final day of the 2022 Union County 4-H Fair. The large Round Robin Showmanship trophy pits the top eight livestock showmen from the species that are shown at the fair...horse and pony, sheep, swine, poultry, meat goats, dairy goats, rabbits and beef.
Schlichter was the Sheep Show Showman in the Round Robin a year ago when brother Hayden was named the Round Robin winner as the Meat Goat Showman. Dexter bounced back this year to carry on the Schlichter showmanship tradition.
Winning the Round Robin Showmanship trophy this year wraps up a 10-year 4-H career for the 2022 Union County High School graduate.
Champion showmen this year battling for the large showmanship trophy include Leea Persinger, (horse & pony), Emma Wooley (dairy goats), Dexter Schlichter (sheep), Colten Wesseler (swine), Jenny Carmack (poultry), Haylee Lester (meat goats), Kyleigh Payne (rabbits) and Jordan Logue (beef).
