Vicky Greer is thanking the community for the outpouring of love she has received since losing her son in an accident caused by a drunk driver.
David Marshall, 37, of Liberty, died as a result of a motor vehicle accident Saturday, Apr. 23, in Union County when the car he was traveling in was struck from behind causing the car to go airborne into a line of trees. No one else was injured in the accident, but David was pronounced deceased at the scene.
David’s mother and family are struggling to understand why this happened. But, the support of the community has provided comfort as they grieve.
On Monday David’s mother received a large envelope with over 40 cards from the students at Seton Catholic School in Richmond to share she was in their thoughts and prayers.
Now, Vicky is sharing the story in hopes the children, faculty and parents will see how much she appreciates the gesture.
“If only you knew how much this means to me,” Vicky shared. “Losing David has me shattered inside and I don't know how to find myself. This has been the most difficult thing I have ever faced. I still see him everywhere I turn. Some days I burst in tears and others I feel so angry. I want to send my love and thanks to all you children in Seton Catholic School; your parents and teachers are raising you to have love and compassion for your fellow men. To the teachers and parents...from the heart, thank you!”
