Have you heard? Good things are happening at the Grove in College Corner thanks to a Creating Places Campaign launched June 10 in conjunction with the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA)

According to Olivia Chewning, Union County Special Projects Coordinator, the June 10 kickoff of the fundraiser at the Grove explained the project and displayed  large pictures of the anticipated playground equipment.

“We must raise $50,000 by Aug. 9 to meet the 50% match from IHCDA. If they should raise more than the $50,000, those funds can be used for any items they might want beyond the project specifications,” Chewning said. “And if we do not raise $50,000, we do not get $50,000.”

The College Corner community is excited and working hard to make the Creating Places Campaign project a reality and have raised more than half of the $50,000, Chewning said.

College Corner and  Liberty both have Fourth of July Celebrations and Chewning has plans to set up at both locations with pictures and answers to your questions.

Look for a booth at the College Corner 4th of July celebration and the Liberty Festival, July 1, 2 and 3.

“We want to let the community know that if we go up and beyond $50,000 goal, the extra money will go for extra add-ons we would like,” Chewning added.
