The Union County Patriots Spring Athletic Awards Program heard from coaches of the spring athletic teams and recognized the student/athletes who make Union County spring sports interesting.

Team members were introduced by coaches who shared comments on the season past.

Ryan Overholt recognized first-year coach Dillon Miller with a trophy  noting his first year.

”We had a rough season with all the weather conditions but the girls made do with the gym and working out in the weight room. When we first started this season, most of the girls did not know a whole lot about tennis,” Miller said. “I can say from a coach’s standpoint that all of these girls have improved a lot this season. I’m excited to see what the future brings and how much stronger we are going to be for years to come. We still have a lot of work to do, but I have some of the hardest working girls you could ask for.”

Ten UC student athletes who earned varsity letters for four years were also recognized.

Student athletes were recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom with the presentation of UC Scholar Athlete Gold and Silver Certificates and Tri-Eastern Conference Academic All-Conference certificates.

Individual team meetings were held where coaches announced the special award winners in each sport.
