CanoeFest Classic Car Cruise
June 28, 2022 at 8:24 p.m.
If you had the pleasure of seeing classic cars cruising down main street on Friday, June 24, then you know that the Car Cruise was a success. Residents from all over Brookville brought their classics out to show off and none of them disappointed!
Walt and Linda Turner debuted a sleek, red 1957 Mercury Montclair Convertible with an original continental kit and push-button start. Walt proudly stated he has owned this Mercury for 25 years and poured blood, sweat, time, and money to keep his classic pristine.
Paul Wilson brought his 1995 Corvette Coup LTI, which he's had for about a year. For those who don't know, there were only 400 or so of these cars made. Another gorgeous car was brought in by Harold and Annie Hofer. Bringing in a 1964 Malibu Chevy Supersport, the Hofers have owned this car for seven years and drive it as often as they can. There are very few of these cars left, but they were popular in drag races.
Other amazing submissions include:
· 1939 Master 85 Chevy Gasser owned by Paul Clark.
· 1969 Chevy Chevelle SS owned by Gary Thomas.
· 1967 Chevy Camaro SS owned by Steve Riedman.
· 1973 MGB owned by Todd and Debbie Wolf.
· 1936 Ford Flathead V8 Pickup owned by Dennis Kolb.
· 1968 Chevelle owned by Cecil Pittman.
· 1970 Dodge Charger owned by Donald Schuler.
· 1929 Ford Coupe owned by Jim Wilkens.
· 1971 GT Torino owned by Eugene Laker.
· 1973 Plymouth Scamp owned by Gabe Vest.
· 1973 Dodge Dart owned by Steve and Tracy Russel.
· 1965 Chevy Impala SS owned by Tag Nobbe.
· 1970 Firebird owned by Brett and Anne Davis.
· 2015 Camaro owned by Bill Combs.
· 1966 Chevelle owned by Lester Beesley.
· 1996 Chevy Impala SS owned by Bruce Kaiser.
Every car brought was clean and in top condition. The preservation of these classics gave Brookville Main Street an enjoyable evening of cruising down for all to see. Cars were parked in the United Methodist Church parking lot on Main and 8th. Helping the car cruise were the lovely United Methodist Women. These ladies provided home-baked goods to sell for those attending the show, as well as their incredible work done locally and all over the country. Thank you to everyone who participated in the Car Cruise Friday evening. Several owners have stated that they consistently take their cars out for drives as often as they can. Keep an eye for them!
