2022 Liberty Festival is bursting with entertainment, fun and more

Liberty’s 2022 Fourth of July Festival returns this year bigger and better than ever leading off with Midway rides all three days and coming to a close with Noah Pavey bringing the Pavey and Company Band back to Liberty.
The 3-day event celebrating our independence has never offered more. The Liberty Festival is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 1, 2 and 3 in the heart of downtown Liberty with vendors, Water Ball contest, live bands, Line of Freedom ceremony, parade, Freedom Run (7.5k), Contests, Food vendors, golf cart show and a beer garden sprinkled throughout.
Friday, July 1 is opening day with Midway rides open from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 2, the Midway rides are open from 4 to 11 p.m. and Sunday July 3 from noon to 5 p.m.
And opening day would not be complete without a pie auction at 5:15 p.m. and the ever popular Water Ball competition at 6 p.m. Jr. Davis and the Funkyard Dogs take the stage from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The Gil Puckett Band performs from 9 to 11 p.m.
Saturday, July 2 is the biggie day beginning at 8 a.m. and winding down at 11 p.m.
The Union County Public Library begins with a book sale (8 - 2 p.m.), The annual Freedom Run takes off at 8:30 a.m. and the courthouse square blossoms with vendors all around and all day long.
The newest business in town, the Water Works Market with the Farmer’s Market, will set up from 9 a.m. until noon.
Then there is the pie baking contest, hula hoop contest, freckle contest, patriotic baby contest, two bands providing music, the Line of Freedom Ceremony at 6 p.m. Followed by the parade.
The Festival concludes on Sunday, July 3, with a golf cart show, vendors all around, a patriotic chalk art competition, and Midway rides before Pavey and Company Band hits the stage from 3 to 5 p.m.
