Liberty’s 2022 Fourth of July Festival returns this year bigger and better than ever leading off with Midway rides all three days and coming to a close with Noah Pavey bringing the Pavey and Company Band back to Liberty.

The 3-day event celebrating our independence has never offered more. The Liberty Festival is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 1, 2 and 3 in the heart of downtown Liberty with vendors, Water Ball contest, live bands, Line of Freedom ceremony, parade, Freedom Run (7.5k), Contests, Food vendors, golf cart show and a beer garden sprinkled throughout.

Friday, July 1 is opening day with Midway rides open from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 2, the Midway rides are open from 4 to 11 p.m. and Sunday July 3 from noon to 5 p.m.

And opening day would not be complete without a pie auction at 5:15 p.m. and the ever popular Water Ball competition at 6 p.m. Jr. Davis and the Funkyard Dogs take the stage from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The Gil Puckett Band performs from 9 to 11 p.m.

Saturday, July 2 is the biggie day beginning at 8 a.m. and winding down at 11 p.m.

The Union County Public Library begins with a book sale (8 - 2 p.m.), The annual Freedom Run takes off at 8:30 a.m. and the courthouse square blossoms with vendors all around and all day long.

The newest business in town, the Water Works Market with the Farmer’s Market, will set up from 9 a.m. until noon.

Then there is the pie baking contest, hula hoop contest, freckle contest, patriotic baby contest, two bands providing music, the Line of Freedom Ceremony at 6 p.m. Followed by the parade.

The Festival concludes on Sunday, July 3, with a golf cart show, vendors all around,  a patriotic chalk art competition, and Midway rides before Pavey and Company Band hits the stage  from 3 to 5 p.m.

Whew! What a Liberty Festival made possible by a host of sponsors...The Union County Development Corporation, Great Plains Communications, NSK, Liberty; Union County Foundation, Eastfork Transportation LLC; Cross County Freight; Dare Trucking, Liberty Inn Motel; VP Racing Fuel; Bath State Bank; Edward Jones-Don Thomas; and Brenda’s Got the Bling.
