Edith Marie Flaspohler Aulbach, 98, of Elizabethtown passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023, at her home.

She was born on March 24, 1925 in Franklin County to her parents, Frank and Rose Ronnebaum Flaspohler.

Edith was a homemaker, member of the Redhatters, The Card Ladies, and a member of St. James Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert Francis Aulbach; daughter, Rosemary Aulbach; grandson, Chase Keith; great-grandson, Blake Richardson, her parents, sisters, Jennette Eckstein and Betty Hountz; brother, Francis Flaspohler; daughter-in-law, Audrey Aulbach; ex-daughter-in-law, Janice Breining and ex-son-in-law, Howard Richardson.

Survivors include her children, Martin Aulbach (Donna), Mike Aulbach (Ka Ann Lord), David Aulbach (April Maraman), Patricia Van Duyn (Allen), Susie Smith (Harry), Kenny Aulbach (Helen Richardson), Jim Aulbach (Kim Nalley), Steve Aulbach (Karen), Tim Aulbach (Teresa), Mary Jane Booth (Joe), Rebecca Aulbach and Brenda Keith (Daniel); 23 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren with one more great-grandchild and three great-great-grandchildren expected soon. Her extended family, Vicki and Joe Herrmann, Mary Aulbach, Jim Turner and The Card Ladies: Sharon Pinkham, Patsy Crutcher, Janice Hudson and Dot Morse.

The Aulbach family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Chris Godfrey, Diane Bays, Coleen Gibson, Janet Purvis and Morgan Cecil for taking such wonderful care of their mother.

Services will be 10a.m. (EST) Friday, April 28, 2023, at St. James Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Michael Cemetery in Brookville.

Visitation will be at Trowbridge Funeral Home in Elizabethtown from 4-8 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, April 27, 2023. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. (EST). Visitation will resume Friday, April 28, 2023, at 9 a.m. (EST) at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial contributions be made to either St. Jude or The Salvation Army.
