In completion of a suspended game from early April, Rushville finished off conference rival South Dearborn in Aurora last Tuesday in comeback fashion.

Starting again in the fourth inning, RCHS trailed 3-2, a score that went to 4-2 after four. Neither side scored in the fifth but SD tacked on another run in the bottom of the sixth. The Lions came off the mat to tie the game at five in the top of seven and held the Knights off the scoreboard to force extra innings. The visitors scored twice in the eighth and SD laid another zero as Rushville won 7-5.

The Knights had the advantage in hits, 6-5, but also committed two flubs to the Lions’ one. SD pitching walked a ton of batters in the loss. Bowles drove in three, junior Nicholas Bowles two and Reynolds had a double and RBI. Trueblood and Taylor added RBI. Taylor walked four and fanned six on the mound. K. Bowles picked up three steals, Ty. Smith two and Reynolds one.
