GREENSBURG – On a dry, dusty Greensburg Country Club course in Saturday’s heat, the FCHS Lady Wildcats competed in the IHSAA Sectional. FC fell short of advancing by seven strokes thanks to surprising scores coming in from 3rd-place Greensburg (399-406). However, senior Annie Hoff (97) and freshman Audrey Mears (98) will move on as individuals to the regional this weekend.

Batesville dominated with 313 to capture the trophy and East Central, behind individual champion Rowan Pies’ 69, shot 357. Other FC scores were Serena Silas (105), Emma Tolhurst (106) and Maddie Hoff (107).

“Thank you everyone for your continued support throughout the season. I know myself, Coach Mears, and all the girls greatly appreciate everyone!” said head coach Brandon Cowen.

FC traveled to Hidden Valley Golf Club the previous Saturday for the EIAC Tournament! FC came away with 3rd place and had an All-Conference player in Annie Hoff (94)! The Cats tied at 408 with Greensburg but won the tiebreak as all five scoring players were lower than the Pirates. Pies was MVP with 69.

Batesville wasn’t to be caught (318) and EC (350) was next. More FC scores: M. Hoff (103), Mears (105), Silas (106) and Tolhurst (111).

The regional is Saturday in Franklin at Legends Golf Club.
