Allen Eugene ‘Butch’ Seals, age 84, of Liberty died peacefully Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Forrest Park Health Campus in Richmond.

Born September 22, 1940 in Miamisburg, Ohio he was the son of the late Levi and Addie (Tipton) Seals Johnson.  He married the love of his life, Alice Mergenthal, on March 23, 1963, and they enjoyed nearly 62 years of marriage, building a beautiful life filled with family, hard work, and dedication to community.

A man of many talents, Butch was a hardworking entrepreneur and dedicated serviceman.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army for three years before embarking on a diverse and fulfilling career.  He was the owner of Seals Meats, an auctioneer, and a home builder.  He had also worked at Visteon and National Cash Register, leaving a lasting impact in every role he took on.  He then retired and took on farming.

Beyond his professional life, Butch was a proud and active member of the Masonic Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion, where he found camaraderie and purpose in serving others.

His greatest joy was his family.  Survivors include his loving wife Alice, two children, Brian (Marla) Seals and Gina (Randy) Robinson, grandchildren, Patrick (Samantha), Jessica (Austin), Megan (Dawson), Travis, Ryan (Maggie).  He was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Caroline, Carson and Camden.  He is also survived by siblings, Virgie Effing, Denny (Maureen) Seals, Gary (Janet) Seals, and many nieces and nephews.

Butch will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generosity, and devotion to his family.  His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the American Parkinson Disease Association.

A private graveside service will be held for the family with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, with a celebration of his life to be announced at a later time.
