Laverne Metcalf, age 80, of Brookville died Wednesday morning, March 5, 2025 at Envive Healthcare of Brookville.
Born August 13, 1944 in Brookville, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Hazel E. (Moore) Mullins. She remained a lifelong resident of Franklin County.
On April 3, 1965 she was united in marriage to Clarence Metcalf, and he preceded her in death on October 30, 2015.
A homemaker, she enjoyed taking care of her family, reading and playing bingo.
Survivors include three children, Preston (Brandy) Metcalf, Jimmy (Teresa) Metcalf and Roger Metcalf, all of Brookville; three grandchildren, Katie (Travis) Vice, Ron Metcalf, Bud Metcalf; three great-grandchildren, Olivia Prater, Aiden Prater, Elliott Buck; four siblings, Ray Mullins, John (Donna) Mullins, Ellar (James) Sandlin all of Brookville, Jewell (John) Richardson of Laurel; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence, a sister, Naomi Richardson; two brothers, Roy Mullins and Walter Mullins.
Friends and family visited Monday, March 10, 2025 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Leo Grubb officiated the funeral service at 11:00 a,m. on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, with burial following in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
