Lady Wildcats shut out Shiners

Franklin County took on the Rising Sun Shiners last Thursday and won with a score of 1-0.
The Wildcats' offense was held off by the Shiners for most of the game but with 27 minutes remaining in the first half, sophomore and captain Madesyn Sunderhaus made a goal straight up the middle with Bethany Melugin credited on the assist. Rising Sun's defense did an excellent job at holding off the Wildcats. In the first half, senior Madison Merritt had 5 shots on goal.
In the second half, there were no points scored by either side. Midfielders Erica Weaver, Lily Knapp and Lillian Ralph all had 2 shots on goal. Along with that, Sunderhaus and Melugin both had 3 shots on goal. Goalie Liz Wendel had 4 saves in this match.
The Wildcats (1-1, 0-1) travel to Union County Tuesday to take on the Patriots.
