The Union County Development Corporation held a ribbon cutting this past Monday to assist in the official  opening of the Bath State Bank school branch at Union County High School.

“Our high school program offers a BSB student bank account with the same basic structure as its typical offerings,” BSB president Brandon Logan said. “But reflects that students have a relatively small income and are just learning money management and how to navigate their financial lives.”

UCHS graduation requirements include completing a Personal Finance Class and the BSB branch will help provide the tools to pair with this instruction to educate students to grow their financial literacy knowledge. 

Some of the Student Patriot Checking Account features...

•Free UCHS Patriot debit card with checking account.
•$25 minimum deposit to open an account.
•No minimum balance.
•No maintenance fees.
•Free eStatements.
•Free online banking (Bank by Mouse).
•Free mobile banking app.
•Fee-free at Bath State Bank ATM locations.
•Non-interest bearing.
•$210 limit for ATM cash withdrawals per day.
•$200 limit for debit point-of sale purchases per day.
•No overdraft protection available.
•When a student turns the age of 18, the account will be converted to a Bath State Bank checking account.
What is needed to open a Student Patriot Checking Account...
•Must be a Union County High School age 14 and above.
•Under 18 years old; Parent permission slip required.
•18 and older: Basic Checking Acount. No parent permission required.
•Student name, date of birth, address, email and Social Security Number.
•Preferred method of ID will be a driver’s license/permit (photo ID)
•The Student Patriot Checking Account available at all BSB locations. Student must provide proof of being a UCHS student in order to open the account at any BSB location.

Savings accounts are also available with $5 minimum deposit.
