August 30, 2022 at 8:49 p.m.
Franklin County's boys tennis team appears to be hamstrung as the 2022 campaign gets underway. The Wildcats were able to line up just five players in the Aug. 18 season opener against visiting Northeastern. This meant FC forfeited No. 2 doubles to fall into a 1-0 hole early.
The final was ultimately 5-0 in favor of the Knights. The No. 1 doubles team of twins Ty and Trevor Bruns were dropped 6-3, 6-2 by Trey York and Karsen Scarrette. At top singles, Garrett Kuntz fell 6-1, 6-1 to Colton Coyle. Tyson Rosenberger took a 6-1, 6-1 loss to Canyon Johnting at No. 2 singles. At third singles, Bryce Bruns was defeated by Landon Scarrette 6-1, 6-3.
FC visits East Central Thursday.
