The date is set for Saturday, Sept. 3 at the Union County Historical Depot Museum filled with vendors from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. welcoming visitors and a one-of-a-kind auction of the last courthouse clock face. Other items by vendors and local craftsmen will also be offered by auctioneer Jim Hensley.

The clock face is one of four put in the courthouse tower in 1896.

One of the original clock faces can be found in Kehila Coffee across from the courthouse on Main Street. According to Union County Historical Society President, Steve Logue, one is on the Old Liberty Water Works Building and one sold last year to a Liberty individual, so this one is the last one.

“We thought the only set of hands were on display in the Depot museum; however, when we have been going through the Water Works Building, we found another set. That set will sell separately and likely the only time original clock hands will ever sell,” Logue said.

So mark your calendars – Saturday, Sept. 3, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Union County Historical Museum for the auction of the clock face at 3 p.m.
