Human remains found in Hueston Woods believed to be missing Ohio man
December 14, 2022 at 8:37 p.m.
Authorities believe that human remains found last Wednesday in Hueston Woods State Park are those of a Fairfield Township (Ohio) man who has been missing for more than two years.
Michael Allen McKenney, then 28 years old, was last seen in May of 2020. Ohio DNR had located his car and personal belongings in Hueston Woods shortly after a missing person's report was filed on June 1, 2020, and authorities say search teams covered the area but found nothing. McKenney's family had even hired a private investigator to help locate him, and both K9 and drone searches of the area remained fruitless until Dec. 7 when Fairfield Township Police discovered what they believe to be McKenney's remains near Butler/Preble counties' border.
Preble County's coroner took the remains to continue the investigation.
