By Cassie Garrett-

Franklin County resident Krista Marcum shared photos of a nativity scene her mother built all by herself this Christmas season with The 765. What inspired Krista to send in her mother's story was the circumstances in which the nativity was made.

"She is a postal clerk and has worked with the post office for over 20 years. Christmas is the busiest time of the year for the post office, and she usually puts in 12 hours easily, with the post office being short-staffed. We have often talked after her shift, and she breaks down crying because the day was so hectic."

However, regardless of the busyness the holiday brings, she shared an idea for Christmas with her daughter that she felt she had to make time for.
"I went to her house, and when I pulled up, she was on the front lawn. She had a drill and wood and was determined to build her nativity scene. And by golly, she did."

It was her mother's attitude and Christmas Spirit that led her to write in.

"Just wanted to share that no matter what, even if you have had a horrible day, there are still people out there trying to bring the true meaning of Christmas to people; super proud of her for building it herself! Merry Christmas!"
