Stanley, Nicholson first at Lakeside

Kyle Stanley continued his great run through the Southeastern Indiana Racing Circuit by taking Brookville's 13th annual Lakeside 5K Saturday morning. The 2022 Rushville Consolidated grad won in 17:30 after earlier winning in Liberty and Rushville. South Ripley grad Lanie Nicholson won her third straight series race, breaking the tape in 19:53.

Batesville's Jake Chapman was third (18:22). Brookville entries included Dexter Dorrel (26:31) and Stacey Nobbe (26:55). Others repping Batesville were Levi Essick (22:53), Benjamin Adams (21:25), Dominick Werner (22:05), David Raver (24:05), Rob Chapman (23:26), Ronnie McAllister (22:10), Ken Hornbach (34:21), Caitlin Raver (24:05), Kaylie Raver (21:58) and Shanna Smith (28:33). Abe Trossman of Oldenburg (26:35), along with Isaac Trossman (19:09), raced.

Gabe Riehle of Sunman (18:35) and Ben Riehle of Sunman (18:30) competed, as did Kendall Pflum (25:28). Tanner Paddock of Liberty raced through in 21:05. Kyle Gutfreund (19:11) and Sean Wiwi (27:18) of West Harrison entered, also Joe Paul (24:19) and Faith Henderson (23:52). Mike Peters of Osgood ran (43:23), as did Evelyn Kelly of Holton (27:06). Also from Rushville, Jorja Ellis (30:00), Kristina Spaeth (28:28) and Tiffany Spaeth (33:20).

Retired WLW radio personality Jim Scott walked the course in 59:27.

Previous races in the circuit included the Trojan Trot at East Central July 9 and the Knight Flight at South Dearborn July 16.

Chapman won the Trojan Trot (and his age group) in 17:41. Nicholson won the women's race in 19:10.  Werner ran it in 22:05. Also from Batesville: D. Raver (23:07), R. Chapman (23:04), Hornbach (36:26), C. Raver (23:06), Alyssa Donawerth (27:22), Delaney Donawerth (23:26), Smith (28:33). 

Sunman racers: Logan Hicks (20:06), Gavin Hicks (20:28), Nathan Stroud (27:55), Pflum (24:48), Jada Hicks (35:09), Heather Zins (26:32), Mary Graf (38:28). Carlee Black of Oldenburg was tops among women 40-44 (21:55). From Osgood, Henry Peters ran 47:14 and M. Peters 44:37. West Harrison representatives: Wiwi (26:15), Kylie Renihan (35:09), Sophie Renihan (33:08), Henderson (24:47), ThuyDuong Doan (26:04). Nobbe ran 25:54 and Kelly Beck of Brookville ran 33:07. Kelly finished in 24:41.

In Aurora, J. Chapman took runner-up with 18:11. Brayden Ryan of Miamitown, Ohio won (18:05). Nicholson won again on the women's end, finishing in 19:22.

Isaiah Frey of Oldenburg finished in 21:17. Robert Moul of W. Harrison raced in 29:43 and Hannah Moul clicked in at 35:24. Rushville saw Ellis (30:26), K. Spaeth (30:47) and T. Spaeth (32:12) compete.
