Lady Wildcats reflect on solid 2022
November 1, 2022 at 9:05 p.m.
Celebrating yet another banner season on the links, the Franklin County Lady Wildcats and first-year mentor Taylor Erfman hosted an awards banquet last week.
The girls golfers ran up a 10-2 record in regular-season 9-hole dual matches, following that up with runner-up finishes – to an excellent Batesville team – at the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference meet in Connersville and the sectional at Greensburg to move on to the Franklin regional. Juniors Nicole Mears, Crystal Calihan and Lillie Graf were each all-conference.
Mears and Calihan (pictured, left to right) swept the season individual honors. Mears was selected most valuable and produced the lowest putting average. Calihan was chosen as most improved and garnered the Wildcat Pride award.
Shown in the team photo are (l-r) Erfman, Graf, Vivian Silas, Mears, Ruby Singer, Jaelyn Grimmeissen, Calihan and Jacy Grimmeissen. Lucy Lautz was not present.
