Charles J. Fields, 79, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022, at his home. He was born January 17, 1943, in Richmond, to Charles B. and Helen B. (Hendrix) Fields.  Charles was a graduate of Short High School in Liberty, and attended Ivy Tech where he received his degree in HVAC.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam era.  Charles retired in 2006 from Sealed Air in Indianapolis as an industrial electrician.

Charles is survived by wife Diana L. (Rector) Fields, whom he married July 21, 1963, daughters: Anna Kathleen (Roger) Logan of Gulfport, Mississippi and Barbara Elaine (Craig) Switzer of Pendleton, grandchildren Tori (Zac) Maier, Casey (Brady) Manthe and Randi (JD) Silvey, great-grandchildren Laurel, Molly and Oliver Maier, TJ and Sawyer Silvey, siblings Danny E. Fields of Amelia, Ohio, Ronnie E. Fields of Indianapolis, Gary S. (Evelyn) Fields of Hamilton, Ohio and Ricky (Donna) Fields of College Corner, Ohio as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles B. and Helen B. (Hendrix) Fields and stepmother Margaret Fields. 

A memorial service to honor Charles' life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Grandview Church 9064 W. Grandview Blvd. Pendleton, IN 46064. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 5635 W. 96th Street Suite 100 Indianapolis, IN 46278 or American Parkinson Disease Association P.O. Box 61420 Staten Island, NY 10306.
