ST. LEON - Two undefeated Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference teams battled on Tuesday evening. The Franklin County Lady Wildcats took the 10-minute ride south to face the #9-ranked East Central Lady Trojans. EC was just too tough in winning 57-26.

EC pulled ahead quickly, going up 11-2 five minutes into the game. FC's Kassidy Schell hit a three-pointer, but EC scored 11 more unanswered points to finish the first frame up 22-5. The Lady Trojans went on a 7-0 run to start the second quarter. Schell dropped in a free throw to stop the run with 5:26 to go in the half. EC scored six more points before Kiersten Schell scored on a layup bringing the score to 35-8 in EC's favor. Ki. Schell hit two shots, including a long ball, but Trojan standout Josie Trabel finished off the half strong with 16 at the midway point; the Lady Trojans led 39-14 by halftime. Ki. Schell led the Lady Cats in the half with nine points. 

Halfway through the third frame, EC increased their lead by 34 points and by the end of the period led 55-21. Franklin County (3-1) came on the court for the final frame and scored the first two baskets, while the Lady Trojans started 0-of-6 shooting. Sophomore Emily Klem ended the drought for EC with just under two minutes to go in the contest. The Klem basket became the final points scored on the evening as the Lady Trojans collected a conference win and moved to 3-0 on the season (now 4-2).
