PickleBall Rocks Launches Store in Brookville

Friday, Nov. 11, Brookville welcomed the grand opening of Pickleball Rocks, owned by Rodney Grubbs. Pickleball Rocks is located at 110 Main Street by Family Dollar. Their hours are Monday-Friday: 10a-4p, and Saturday: 10a-2p.

Pickleball Rocks online store is open 24 hours, seven days a week. This can be accessed by going to pickleballrocks.com

Pickleball is rapidly soaring into popularity all over the world. There are leagues and tournaments everywhere and you can even hear about it on Good Morning America and The Today Show. Due to its newfound fame, celebrities including Tom Brady, Lebron James, and Mark Cuban now own Major League Pickleball teams.

The idea was brought to Franklin County back in 2008 by Charlie and Betty Allen, Larry Sheets, and Marilyn Hedrick when they came across the game in Florida. Since then, they have stopped at nothing to bring Pickleball here to Franklin County.

For those who don't know what Pickleball is, it's a game of oversized ping pong played on a miniature tennis court. A small court can be found in Pickleball Rocks, along products and merchandise.

Pickleball Rocks Clothing & Equipment primarily operates out of Fort Wayne, and has for 13 years. The Main Street location will now have the administrative office. The new store is solely dedicated to the sport of Pickleball and each product, merchandise, and piece of equipment further solidifies Pickleball Rocks as the top apparel brand in the country. There are hats, visors, shirts, shorts, paddles, and even portable nets.

Also available is the option for customers to demo paddles from makers such as Gearbox, Selkirk, Engage, and Pro-Lite Sports.

Pickleball has four courts outdoors by the fairgrounds, but should weather be nasty, there are open courts at the old high school from 8:30am to 10:30am. This is recreational play, and anybody is welcome to come in and join the fun. While it's relaxed and enjoyable, Pickleball is a fun new way to create social events and form new friendships.

Stop in to see Rodney at Pickleball Rocks for the best apparel and gear and give Pickleball a try.
