November Noel was a big hit
November 22, 2022 at 7:10 p.m.
This past Saturday, Brookville held its annual November Noel on the courthouse lawn from 1pm-3pm. The Noel gives an early Christmas experience to Brookville alongside various activities and vibrant sights throughout the town.
As usual, attendees had the chance to meet Santa and get a photo with him. This year, nearly 200 kids had the opportunity to tell Santa what they would like for Christmas this year in person. Nearby sat a gorgeous setup of his sleigh and reindeer, decorated with lights and Christmas bells.
Attendees also had the chance to meet Blackie the Pony.
A special thanks to James Rowe who provided the music for this occasion.
The Noel featured booths for children's crafting, various games, and drawings. One of the booths set up was for the Brookville Kiwanis, who offered fun face painting and a free book giveaway.
The nativity scene, once set up by Wayne Monroe, was brought down by his family to keep the tradition going. Wayne dedicated years to setting up the nativity scene, spent hours restoring several pieces, and took care with hauling the scene around to get it set up or stored away properly. With his recent passing, the nativity scene also served as a memorial for Wayne and gave his family a chance to spend another moment partaking in one of his best hobbies.
The Noel also had events outside the courthouse lawn. The public library held a Fall-iday Crafting event (9am-2:30pm). Here, guests could create wreaths, ornaments, and much more. The library also provided all supplies for endless fun.
The Brookville Town Park held the Winter Wonderland Golf Cart Parade at 6:30pm. Those participating were encouraged to bring their golf cart, decorated for the festivities, and paraded them around the decorated park. Lights, various trees for businesses, and small posters adorned the park for the parade and the turn-out this year was incredible.
As the Noel wrapped up, it was a pleasure to see so many happy faces and know that everyone enjoyed themselves.
