The Franklin County Wildcats start sectional action Thursday, Oct. 13th at 6 p.m. when they take on the Connersville Spartans. In the regular season, the Wildcats lost in 5 sets to the Spartans once and lost in 3 sets another time. 

Also on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., the Lawrenceburg Tigers will take on the 30-0 Greenburg Pirates. The winners of Wildcats/Spartans and Tigers/Pirates will face off Oct. 15, 12:30 p.m. 

Tuesday the South Dearborn Knights took on the Batesville Bulldogs; the score could not be published due to our deadlines. The winner will take on Rushville - who got the bye - Saturday at 11 a.m. The championship match will be Saturday evening at 7 p.m. 

All these matches will be taking place at Lawrenceburg High School. 

Thursday the Wildcats took on the SD Knights at home in their last match of the regular season. The Wildcats won in 3 sets (25-24, 27-25, 25-13). 

Kassidy Schell had 4 aces, 5 kills, 11 digs and 11 assists. Kensee Ferman had 2 aces, 6 kills, 6 digs and 1 assist. Tiffany Billman had 3 kills and 1 solo block. Lauren Stacy had 7 digs. Veronica Reeves had 3 kills, 1 dig and 5 solo blocks. Cydney Morehead had 2 kills and 1 assist. Annie Hoff had 2 kills. 

Saturday the JV Lady Cats traveled to South Dearborn for the JV EIAC Invite. With Lawrenceburg and Connersville dropping out, it was only six teams. “We played very well against EC and Greenburg but fell short playing only two sets with each of them,” said coach Jill Mergenthal. “After taking the two losses in the morning, we re-pooled and played Rushville for 5th/6th. We beat Rushville in two sets, capturing 5th.”

EC – loss in 2 sets – 13-25, 23-25. Hoff had 1 ace, 1 kill, 1 solo block and 1 dig. Bailey Kaiser had 1 ace, 5 kills and 4 digs. Chloe Clark had 1 ace and 4 digs. Morehead had 5 kills, 5 digs and 5 assists. Marisa Marshall had 1 dig. Kristen Ison had 3 digs. Hope Gardner had 4 digs.  

Greensburg – loss in 2 sets – 21-25, 19-25. Morehead had 2 aces, 3 kills, 6 digs and 5 assists. Piper Twiggs had 1 ace and 10 digs. Gardner had 1 ace and 12 digs. Clark had 1 ace, 3 kills, 2 digs and 1 assist. Marshall had 1 kill. Hoff had 4 kills. Kaiser had 4 kills, 5 digs and 1 solo block. Ison had 5 digs.  

Rushville – win in 2 sets – 25-19, 25-23. Kaiser had 3 aces, 4 kills and 3 digs. Clark had 1 ace, 7 kills, and 4 digs. Marshall had 2 kills and 1 dig. Ison had 1 kill and 5 digs. Morehead had 5 kills, 4 digs and 13 assists. Hoff had 7 kills, 1 dig and 1 solo block. Gardner had 1 kill and 5 digs. Twiggs had 5 kills. The JV team ended their regular season with a regular record of 6-13 and an EIAC 0-7.
