Somerville Bank in Eaton, Ohio has named Greg Meier to the position of senior vice president & chief lending officer.

In his role, Meier will direct all lending staff in the areas of underwriting, credit analysis, processing and loan review. His responsibilities will also include ensuring compliance with bank lending policies and procedures.

“We are delighted to have Greg as part of our executive team,” said Douglas Ulrich, president. “In his new role he will be able to utilize his banking experience and knowledge of financial products in support of our customers and the growth of Somerville Bank.”

Mr. Meier has over 25 years of banking experience and has worked at Somerville Bank for the past five years. Prior to his promotion, Meier served as vice president & senior ag loan officer in the Oxford, Ohio office. Greg specialized in originating agricultural and commercial loans from Eastern Indiana and Southwest Ohio market areas.

Meier was raised on a farm in northern Franklin County.  He received his bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from Purdue University, and has continued his education by attending numerous schools and seminars in the banking field.

Mr. Meier is currently a board member of the Franklin County Farmers Mutual Insurance Company. He also serves as township trustee for Bath Township in Franklin County. He previously served as board member and treasurer for the Franklin County Community Foundation and board member of the Franklin County Extension Board.

He and his wife Megan reside in northeastern Franklin County and have two children.
