Another Pet Parade, another success for pets

By Cheyenne Lance-

This past Friday, Brookville Main Street held another fantastic Pet Parade! Residents from all over Franklin County brought out their pets to show off, grab a photo, and strut their stuff up and down Main Street.

This year's turnout was small, but still full of amazing dogs, two cats, and a bearded dragon!

Karis Troyer held registration for any walkers on the courthouse lawn, with help from Brian Noah. From there, all owners and their pets were encouraged to stop by the public park by the Foundation for a photo. With those set and taken, it was soon time for everyone to march down Main Street. The walkers walked all the way down to United Methodist Church, where they crossed the street and walked all the way back down to FCN Bank.

All the pets did fantastic too!

Those included in this parade were:

Stanley - French Bulldog with a social disposition
Nelson - Mini Aussie Pom who showed off his tricks
Meeka - Chihuahua/Maltese, and adorned in a pretty pink dress
Gunner - Doberman with great obedience and gorgeous fur
Zeus - All White Ragdoll who oozed regality
Sweetie - English Mastiff, who was incredibly chill
Gus - Pug, with an infectious smile, great manners, and the sweetest face
Otis - Goldendoodle with a quirky belly slide
Shanelle - Poodle with a beautiful bow
Savannah - Labradoodle who was dressed for success
Mary/Pattie/Moses - Basset Hounds who cannot be stopped
Stone - Bearded Dragon who soaked up the heat
Joey - Mini Golden Doodle with a hop in his step
Fat - A longhair cat who enjoyed the walk in Samantha's (owner) arms

With the conclusion of the parade, two raffles were held. One for cats and one for dogs, and each winner would receive a basket of goodies to take home for their pet.

The winners were Otis the Goldendoodle and Zeus the White Ragdoll!

Congratulations to both winners and a huge shout-out to the other pets who made this parade a success! The humane society was also on-site to hand out free brochures, various treats, pamphlets, and other pet needs for owners to take home.

Brookville Butcher supplied a large amount for all pets who came, and enough for those who didn't.

Lastly, the pet parade was sponsored by Main Street Brookville (Nancy Main).
