Rushville opens golf season

RICHMOND - The Rushville Lady Lions' golf team, under the direction of new coach Paul Nicholls, began their season Monday at the Richmond Invitational at the Richmond Elks Country Club.
The Lady Lions were led by Emma Tressler who shot 90. She was followed by Megan Alexander and Claire Waits who both shot 100. Abby Hill and Lauren Megee finished out the scoring with rounds of 124 each. The team total for the Lady Lions was 414. This score put them in 6th place of the seven teams who competed.
Winning the invitational as a team was Batesville with 322. Richmond came in 2nd at 354. Centerville took 3rd place at 362. Union County took 4th at 389. In 5th was East Central at 409 and rounding out the field was Connersville in 7th place at 467.
The Greensburg Invitational is Saturday, followed by road trips Monday to Triton Central and Tuesday to Centerville.
