Barbara Ann Hunter, age 82, of Brookville died Thursday night, August 3, 2023 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville.
Born April 7, 1941 in Hazard, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Edward and Clara (Callahan) Mays. She was united in marriage to Huey Duane Hunter, and he preceded her in death on March 12, 1984.
Barbara was retired, having worked for many years at Owens Corning in Brookville, the Brookville Elementary School and Pepsi in Brookville. In her leisure time she enjoyed being with her family, trips to the casinos, and traveling to Las Vegas.
Survivors include three children, Dawn Liedtke of Lake Orion, Michigan, Marla Hoover of West Harrison and Kevin Hunter of Brookville; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Shires of Laurel as well as three brothers, Paul Mays of Plymouth, Keith Mays of Palm Bay, Florida and Richard Mays of Richmond.
Family and friends visited Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Justin Bradley, pastor of Red Life Church, officiated the funeral services on Tuesday, August 8, 2023; 12:00 Noon at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Mt. Carmel.
