Jordan steps down as Police Chief, Dickinson to fill position in interim

The Liberty Town Council met Monday night for a regularly scheduled public meeting. On the docket this week was the resignation of Andrew Jordan as Liberty Chief of Police. Jordan’s resignation came after a decision made regarding personnel that occurred in executive session several weeks ago. Jordan’s resignation ahead of the meeting eliminated the need for further discussion or debate of the issue. The board took a moment to review Jordan’s submitted letter, and then unanimously voted to accept his resignation. It was agreed that a formal search for replacement would take place at the end of the year/ beginning of 2024 with a full selection process. A member of the board then nominated Todd Dickinson to replace Jordan in the interim. The motion was accepted and the board voted unanimously to approve Dickinson as interim chief of police for the time being.
At time of publication, Jordan has taken a position with Centerville’s police force.
