Barbara June Wagner

Barbara June Wagner, 80, passed away on August 19, 2023 at her home in rural Connersville.
One of six children of Harry and Esther Davis Dolphin, Barbara was born on December 9, 1942 in Connersville. She graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1961 and earned her Associate in Applied Science from Ivy Tech in 1988.
On January 25, 1964, she married Robert Paul Wagner in St. Gabriel Church. Mr. Wagner survives.
Barbara was a member of St. Gabriel Church and the Daughters of Isabella where she held local and state offices. She delivered communion to the sick and shut-in, taught religious education, and made rosaries for the parish. Barbara earned the lifetime achievement award from the Hope Pregnancy Center for her dedication to pro-life causes. Her mission was to end abortion, and she was the dedicated pro-life coordinator at church. She was also a longtime 4-H leader, Franklin County Fair Queen coordinator, and served on the Parish Council and Mother's Club at St. Michael Church, Brookville for many years. Barbara also assisted with bereavement dinners and was known for her delicious pies.
She enjoyed flower gardening and listening to Elvis. Dedicated to family, Barbara loved attending her grandchildren's and great grandchildren's events, including concerts, Masses, and sports. She also loved traveling with her sister.
Besides her husband of 59 years, Robert Wagner, survivors include five children, Douglas Paul Wagner and Rebekkah Lynn (James) Marschand all of Connersville, Christopher Scott (Christine) Wagner and Bradley Duane Wagner all of Brookville, and Michael Robert Wagner of Everton; 16 grandchildren, Ashley (Jay) Parsons, Bobby (Rachel) Wagner, Sarah Wagner, April Race, Clarissa (Cotey) Rice, Robby Marschand, Kathleen Marschand, Kassie Pope, Stephanie Wagner, Gabe Wagner, Jacquelyn (Quinn) Buck, Katrina (Tyler) Lance, John Wagner, Waylan Michael Wagner, and Lara Storm Wagner; 18 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Joann Dolphin of Columbus, Indiana and Joe Dolphin of Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Rita (Dale) Faber and Debra (Gene) Luking, a brother-in-law, Neal Wagner; several nieces and nephews; and her little dog, Skippy.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Bob Dolphin, Dick Dolphin, and Corrine Noah; daughter-in-law, Angie Wagner; father and mother-in-law, Francis and Rose Wagner; and sister-in-law, Hettie Wagner.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Dustin Boehm at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Valley Grove Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. with visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home.
