Dorse Jewel Sherfield
August 22, 2023 at 3:39 p.m.
On Saturday, August 12, 2023, Dorse Jewel Sherfield left this world, running, singing, and shouting into the arms of Jesus. Every person who had the pleasure of meeting Jewel, immediately knew how special of a lady she truly was. Her smile and energy could light up any room and instantly won numerous people over to become her friends. You could see all of the joy and love she had for all of her friends and family on her face and in her eyes. Jewel spent her days at the Bettye J. McCormick Senior Center and the Charles and Mary Baker Center, in Vincennes, where she delighted in being with her friends, playing games, and working on numerous arts and crafts projects that she would proudly give as gifts to her family and friends. Her favorite VanGo driver, Randy, always made sure Jewel was on time and in the right place so she would not miss her fun-filled, meaningful days.
Nine years ago, the Fuller Family had the honor of welcoming Jewel into their home, where she was instantly part of the family. Jewel was fond of both Jared and Ben, who loved spending time with her, talking about their school days while watching her favorite TV shows. Her favorite part of the day though, was sitting on the front porch, waving to all of her friends who came by, honking and waving, and visiting with her friends who stopped and talked with her. Jewel leaves behind a huge hole with her heartbroken but grateful family in Monroe City. Her loving family includes Juan, Becky, Jared, Benjamin Fuller, Stacey, and Gracie. (Forever our Julletta Jones Sherfield)
Darrel Robertson officiated the graveside services at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 18, 2023 at Laurel North Cemetery, State Road 121, Laurel, Indiana 47024.
