Batesville varsity boys soccer clashed with the Union County Patriots in an away match Aug. 15. The first half ended scoreless, but the Bulldogs gained possession momentum. In the second half, the Bulldogs raised their intensity, resulting in a series of opportunities. At 14:19, Ian Carpenter's through ball set up Talan Rowlett for a composed finish, securing the lead. Momentum carried on, as Simon Berkemeier assisted Ian Carpenter's shot which bounced off the crossbar and into the goal extending the lead at 9:51. The Bulldogs' possession and teamwork led Batesville to winning the first match of the season, 2-0. 

The Bulldogs secured a 9-0 win against the Rushville Lions Thursday. In the first half Berkemeier found the opening goal with a low shot at 29:35. Berkemeier's midfield passing led to Owen Powers' successful shot at 13:09, while Carpenter capitalized on a defensive deflection, netting the third goal with just 4:12 left in the half. 

In the second half the Bulldogs extended their lead, beginning with Carpenter's run down the flank at 28:54, crossing to Griffin Koester whose shot bounced off the crossbar into the net. Mathias Davalos' free kick deflected off a defender, finding the goal at 28:04. Berkemeier's impact continued at 26:41 as he dribbled through the middle, delivering a driven shot. Carson Laker placed a free kick at 17:00; the ball ricocheted off the crossbar into the goal. Azmi Destriantoro's header off Rowlett's corner kick found the net at 9:01. The win was sealed by Koester's assist to Thomas Deal, who chipped a shot into the top right corner with 2:12 remaining, ending the match.  

Saturday the Batesville Bulldogs beat the Franklin County Wildcats with a final score of 3-0. The Bulldogs secured their third victory of the season. The first goal with 32 minutes on the clock was scored as Berkemeier passed from the defensive third to Carpenter, who delivered a volley goal from the 18-yard line. Into the second half, the Bulldogs extended their advantage. Rowlett scored the second goal at the 20:51 mark, finding possession within the Wildcats' box and finding the back of the net. The final goal of the match came at 18:29. Laker initiated a give-and-go combination with Destriantoro. Carson's well-placed cross across the six-yard box found Carpenter once again, who shot his second goal of the game.
