Nancy Race passed Sunday, August 13, 2023, surrounded by love, compassion, and kindness. Nancy was blessed to spend her last days at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House with immediate family and friends.
Nancy found joy in spending time with family and friends, gardening, helping others, playing with her dachshunds, and traveling with family.
Nancy began her career as a cosmetologist, owning and operating the Beauty Nook Salon in Brookville. After moving to Rock Hill, she had a salon beside the Downtowner on Oakland Avenue.
After retiring from the beauty business, Nancy joined the Rock Hill School District as a transportation coordinator, fondly known by the bus drivers as the “Bus Lady.”
Nancy is survived by her husband of 63 years Richard, daughter Lauren (Wade), daughter Michelle, granddaughter Brittney (Richard), great grandchildren Morgan, Mackenzie, and Mason, brother Herschel Scott, and sister Paula.She was preceded in death by her father Norman, her mother Pauline, her grandson Brandon, her sister June, and brother Gary.
Nancy will be deeply missed and remembered with love and gratitude.
