Arthur Allen Davis, age 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on January 25, 2023, at Reid Health in Richmond.  Allen was born in Richmond on May 16, 1939, the son of the late Wilbur Arthur and Clara Helen Abernathy Davis.

Allen was united in marriage to the love of his life, Ruby Crist, on November 8, 1959, at the Liberty Church of Christ.  They enjoyed 63 years together prior to his passing.  Allen and Ruby were blessed with three daughters.

In 2001, after 43 years of service, he retired from Perfect Circle in Richmond.  In his free time, he could be found working on their small family farm.  He enjoyed coon hunting, large game hunting, fishing, and trapping.  In his younger days, he enjoyed participating in contest horse events with his special horse named Sir.  Most of all he treasured the life he had made for himself and his family.  Allen was a lifetime member of the NRA.
Those who will love and cherish his memory include his wife, Ruby; daughters, Terri (David) Byrley, Tracy (Greg) Giffen, Tammy (David) Hartman and his sister, Sandy Retz.  He will be remembered often by his nine grandchildren, Timothy (Becky) Lathery, Joshua (Tim Jedra) Lathery, Krista (Ben Toebbe) Lathery, Adam (Emily) Giffen, Tyler (Michael) Giffen, Shelby (Brent Cones) Giffen, Kari (Jason) Ruf, Melissa Hartman, and Matthew (Kaitlyn) Hartman; five great-grandchildren, Lindsey Lathery, Liem Lathery, Ellie Giffen, Emma Ruf and Grant Ruf.  Also missing Allen will be his niece, Amy Barnhizer; nephew Chris Retz, as well as several special equine and hunting buddies.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son-in-law, brother-in-law, Don Retz, and a granddaughter Tiffany Lathery.

The family would like to thank his care team at Reid Health for the exceptional care given and compassion shown during his time there.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Church of Christ, 102 South Main Street, Liberty, IN 47353 or to the NRA, 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA 22030 or www.NRA.org.

Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home is honored to assist Allen's family with the arrangements.  To sign the online guestbook, please visit www.urbanwinklerfuneralhome.com
