Susan Elaine Hampton, 74, of Hagerstown, died Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Reid Health.
She was born in Richmond on October 29, 1948 to Henry and Ruthann (Coffman) Brack. She was a lifelong resident of Wayne County and lived most of her life in Hagerstown. She was a long time employee of Boston, Bever, Forrest, Cross & Sickman in Richmond. Susan was a member of Congregational Christian Church, UCC where she was active in most church activities. She was also an active member of Hagerstown Optimist Club. While active in many community projects, her greatest passion was for her family.
Survivors include her husband, Everett Hampton, Jr.; 2 children, Lisa (husband Andy Baker) and Jonathan Hampton; 3 grandchildren, Tyler (Chelsea), Dylan and Bailey; 5 great-grandchildren, Cyler, Carson, Aiden, Huntlee and Zane; a brother, Dennis Brack (Suzanne) and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 nephews.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.on Saturday, February 4, at Congregational Christian Church. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Rick Alvey will officiate. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Congregational Christian Church or Hagerstown Optimist Club.
