Tuesday, Feb. 9, the Franklin County Middle School held a ceremony to introduce the new inductees into the Franklin County Middle School Honor Society. This group of students were commended for their hard work and dedication in their academics and outside projects.
The evening started with the procession of the inductees, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Next, Beth Brown welcomed everybody to the ceremony and took a moment to speak highly of the inductees for the night.
The certificates were presented to:
Owen Baker, Nevaeh Banks, Brady Brunemann, Pearl Drake, Carlie Doherty, Jordan Dowd, Aiden Eckerle, Emily Fellure, William Gay, Chase Isaac, Lily Isaacs, Sarah Kemp, Ezra Kolb, Sage Leising, Sophiea McCollum, Emma Middendorf, Pete Poe, Madelyn Rosenberger, Isabella Stenger, Luke Stenger, Evelyn Stoeklin, Emma Tolhurst, Logan Troyer, David Voegle, Tyler Weaver, and Chloe West.
The inductees then signed the pledge of honor before taking their seats.
To conclude this ceremony, Stephanie Billman (Franklin County Lilly Scholarship Recipient) and Melinda Brown (Exec. Director of Franklin County Stayin' Alive) both took the podium to speak to the inductees about their lives and the potential they hold going forward. The students were reminded that there is so much out there in the world for them to be involved in, (and how excelling in their academics moving forward can help give them the push they need to give back to not only their community, but to make their own difference. The students were able to understand that while things may not go as planned down the road, all they need to remember is to embrace the other paths waiting for them.
With these two impactful speeches, the inductees were applauded, and the ceremony concluded.
Thanks to Brookville IGA for providing beverages and snacks for the inductees and their family to enjoy as they begin to think about their next steps in the academic and real world.
