John F. Teppe, age 87, of Brookville, passed away on January 2, 2023 at Brickyard Healthcare in Richmond. He was born on August 28, 1935, in Cincinnati, the son of Fred and Annette (Fast) Teppe. He attended Cincinnati Public Schools and was a 25 year veteran of the U.S. Army. John was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Brookville. He had a passion for making pizzas, was an avid sports fan (especially the Reds), and loved collecting sports memorabilia where he specialized in baseball cards. He was known for saying that “the greatest thing you have in life is your family.” He is survived by his wife, Joan (Stacey) Teppe; his children, Kirk (Patricia) Teppe, Kim Johnson, Karen (Matthew) Webb, Jason (Renee) Teppe, Tina Weis, Jonna Brewer (Seth Mountford), and step-son, Jeffrey (Cindy) Newby; 24 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen (the late Jim) Becker and Mary (John) Seymour; and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marie (Hood) Teppe; one daughter, Amber Roth; two grandchildren, Colton Brewer and Tommy Roth; one brother, Fred Teppe; and one sister, Glenna McKeehan. Visitation will be held at Charles C. Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton Cleves Road, Ross, OH on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Memorial Park in Cincinnati. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Colton Jacob Brewer Memorial Endowment Fund, c/o Franklin County Community Foundation, 527 Main Street, Brookville, IN 47012.
