Katie McCashland named to Holiday All-Tourney Team

The Union County Lady Patriots finished fifth in the 9th Annual Holiday Tourney at Union City last week.
In addition, UC’s 5’3” sophomore guard was named to the 8-team Holiday Tourney Team. Other teams include Blue River Valley, Adams Central,Union City, Greenwood Christian, Blackford, Purdue Polytechnical, and Union County.
“Katie had a great tournament,” UC coach Scott Gray said this week. “Thirteen points, 20 points including five 3s and 10 in the final game.”
UC lost to Fort Wayne, 47-39, and Purdue Polytechnic, 50-43, before coming back with a42-28 victory over Adams Central. Union County finished fifth in the final team standings.
“I think Katie was surprised she was named to the All-Tourney Team,” Gray said. “But I wasn’t. She deserved it.
