Phyllis Ann Smith, age 83, of Brookville, died Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at her residence in Brookville following a brief illness.
Born May 21, 1940 in Letcher County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Annie (Roark) Boggs. On March 16, 1963 she was united in marriage to Roy C. Smith and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2017.
Phyllis was retired, having worked for many years at the former Ford/Visteon in Connersville, and at Peoples Trust Company Bank. She loved her family, and cherished time spent with her grandchildren; quilting, and working in her garden. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #449 of Brookville.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia (Russell B.) Campbell of Brookville, a son, Chad (Denise) Smith of Brookville; four grandchildren, Ashley Huhman, Ryan Campbell, Alex Smith, Brett Campbell; six great-grandchildren, Bailey Huhman, Derek Huhman, Conrad Campbell, Colton Campbell, Roy Joseph Smith, Blaise Smith; four sisters, Patsy Montique, Wanda Hollingsworth, Ora Floyd, Jackie Gesell; two brothers, James (Maridale) Boggs and Paul (Ruth) Boggs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy C. Smith, two sisters, Debbie Smith and Shirley Race.
Family and friends visited on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Rev. Mike Holman, pastor of First Baptist Church of Brookville, officiated the funeral services on Saturday, July 8, 2023, 1:00 P.M. at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Mt. Carmel.
