Wilder and Storms reach state finals

KOKOMO – For the second consecutive year, Oldenburg Academy girls tennis will see representation at the IHSAA state finals.
After a team appearance last spring, the No. 1 doubles pair of Mimi Wilder and Evelyn Storms will return to the round after capturing the individual regional Saturday at Kokomo.
In the morning session, the duo rolled past Grace Keener and Molli Runestad of Leo, 6-2, 6-1. Facing Twin Lakes' team of Emma Need and Hannah Hodgen in the afternoon finals, Storms and Wilder made even quicker work of their opponent in winning 6-1, 6-1.
Quarterfinals are Friday at Park Tudor High School, Indianapolis. OA's pairing (24-2) will square off with Rachel Grissom and Caroline Robinson of Indy's North Central (18-3) at 2 p.m. The winner gets Carmel's Ali Griffin and Alexa Lewis (19-1) at 10 a.m. Saturday morning with the state championship to be played at 2 p.m.
