Senior athletes head to next level

Several graduates from Franklin County High School's Class of 2023 will ply their athletic trades for colleges and universities around the United States.
Heading to NCAA Division I competition are Brant Ertel as he moves east to play baseball at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and Josie Rolfes as she takes up rowing at Indiana University-Bloomington.
Brady Morehead will look for quality playing time on the gridiron for the Division II Thomas More University Saints in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
Division III competitors are the baseball duo of Xander Rodriguez and Chase Burton (Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio), wrestler Hayden Newell (Mount Saint Joseph's in Cincinnati's Delhi Township), Phoenix Simons in track and field (Franklin College, Indiana) and softballer Maci Lake (Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois).
Soccer teammates Madison Merritt and Daniella Bulach will continue to wear the same uniform, this time for NAIA-level Indiana University-Purdue University at Columbus.
